But do you guys think I should go for the studio or just the standard dot?
Is the studio less quailty or something?

I went into musicians friend one time, and picked up a dot they had on the floor - it was around 439 i believe, not sure if thats the standard or the studio, but it played and felt great - just a real comfortable guitar

Yeah, they both feel great, I just cant decide, because if I can save a hundred bucks, and get near the same quailty then I will.

The Dot Studio is just a simplified version with 2 controls instead of 4 & it has a pickguard too.
It has no fret markers (just side dots) which is a benefit for me though...

It's a lovely guitar though, just a little neck heavy as can be expected.

Is there any black people on UG?
I don't think a lot of black people play guitar anymore.

they all kinda went extinct after hendrix really.

Needless to say, I lol'ed.

So besides the striped down controls and lack of pickguard, it's not a cheaper make then the standard Dot?

Worse finish.

No pickup covers.

For $100 I'd go for the standard model. Bit more flashy .
Epiphone Elitist SG (Serious)
Tokai Silver Star
Epiphone Dot
Epiphone Les Paul
Washburn J28SCEDL
Washburn J12S

Well yeah the finish is different, but I'm more worried about the quality over looks, I don't want it to crap out on me in a month

Personally, I like the dot studio more. Has more potential for hotrodding it.

I bought a dot studio on ebay in Oct. I bought it specifically for BB king to sign, but played it for three wks before he signed it.I really liked it a lot.I don't touch it now that it 's signed.I now have an Ibanez AS-73 that I LOVE,it's a little warmer sounding than the Epiphone.

The Studio is supposed to be a little less quality from what I've heard. *Shrug*

Play them both, test them in an amp, and do it extensively.

So I went to go try them out yesterday, and I think I'm gonna get the studio.
