Hello, I've been playing Satrini's Crushing Day lately. But I am having a difficult time figuring out WHAT I am playing. Does anyone know what scale/mode Joe is playing for the signature riff of this song? I look at a keyboard map of major / minor diatonic scales and I can't see that the notes line up with any mode. And I don't think the riff is based on the harmonic minor scale. I may be missing something obvious, but I'm stumped. Does anyone know for sure what the scale he is using for this riff? Thanks.

I believe it's C lydian

Edit;

Riff is C Lydian, but the melody contain's a minor 3rd.

He's master though with making melodies using chromatics as chord tones.
