This song is dedicated to the memory of Alexandros Grigoropoulos, the 15 year-old boy who was shot dead by a cop in Exarchia, Athens at the 6th of December 2008, just one day after my birthday and woke up a whole generation and a whole movement to go out in the streets
R.I.P. Alex

The 6th of December

In the last line of the riot
And the cops hot on my heels
Someone threw another cocktail
Suddenly I’m in tears

I can’t breath I am blinded
What became of my mates?
Guess I’d better be running
Just before it’s too late

Just now I realize
I have nowhere to go
And that guy walking to me
Seems like no one I know

Once again I am running
And the insider too
Everybody is crying
From the teargas they threw

Remember, Remember
The 6th of December
I’ll never surrender
Until the end
Remember, Remember
That I’m just a member
Of a giant wave
You won’t understand

We’re just men under the hoods
We’re just men under the hoods

The day after that day
And I’m still in today
Someone’s caught, someone’s hurt
Someone couldn’t run away

Phone to phone, home to home
They are still on our heels
What the hell’s going on
He was only fifteen

Remember, Remember
The 6th of December
I’ll never surrender
Until the end
Remember, Remember
That I’m just a member
Of a giant wave
You won’t understand

We’re just men under the hoods
We’re just men under the hoods

He was only fifteen…
Every form of control over another person is a crime
