I've got a Fender Stratocaster with a floating bridge. As such, every time I go to drop tune it, I have to tune the whole thing 3 or 4 times. Is there anyway I can counter this, or am I just going to have to deal with it?

Do you use the trem?

If not then you can simply block it off and that will sort it. Just take the back plate off and insert a peice of wood (or anything really) thick enough to block out the space between the trem and body. Retune and away you go.
Block it so it doesnt float. It will still dive. Other than that it will be like every other floating trem its got to be reset for other tunings.
^ Of course I know why I need to tune it...

So, in effect, I'm blocking it up so it kind of becomes a non-floating bridge?
