What guitars are worth checking out? I plan on doing a lot of solo work and acoustic sets with it.

Martin 000X1 Acoustic Guitar
It's not an acoustic electric but I own one and it's pretty good.

Look at Ovations in the $300-500 range.
Also Ibanez has a bunch of quality acoustics under $500
Couple other brands: Epiphone, Seagull, and Takamine
or just go to a store and play a bunch and see which one suits your preferences best.

Ibanez does not offer quality acoustic guitars at any price range.

I would suggest Seagull, Takamine, or Epiphone as well.
Equipment:
- Art & Lutherie Cedar CW (SOLD! )
- Martin D-16RGT w/ LR Baggs M1 Active Soundhole Pickup
- Seagull 25th Anniversary Flame Maple w/ LR Baggs Micro EQ

ditto, and only consider the Ovation if you're plugging in. I had one for years and it simply does not throw enough sound on it's own unless you are sitting is a small 10 x 10 room when your playing it.
