simple noob question: i wanna hook up my marshall cab to my traynor YCV50. My amp is rated at 8 ohms, and my cab has a 4 and 16 ohm selection (I can use 8 ohm in either input if i want to do stereo).

Should i set my cab to mono 16 ohms? or use the 8 ohm stereo setting?

Thanks in advance.

Matching ohms is always best, so use the stereo 8 ohm jack on your cab. Keep in mind that only two of the four speakers in the cab will be operational though.

The cab(s) ohm's have to be equal or higher than the heads ohm.

You lose volume when they don't match with the cab @ a higher ohm. You can blow the transformer in the head if the cabs ohm is lower.

I thinks setting the cab to stereo splits it (if its a 2x12 you'll have 2 1x12's, if its a 4x12, you'll have 2 2x12's) and you need two sources going into both inputs to feed each side. Half your speakers wont get signal if you only have one output from your head.

Check the manual, or call support.
