windmills,guitar swings....

well yeah i guess but theyre not really that original. i think theyre a bit too overused to be honest to actually have any credibility anymore. i was thinking more techniques that sound cool and look flashy

Smash the guitar over someones head.

1. Its never been done
2. Skull crunching sounds amazing

Bonus Option: Light your guitar on fire and smash it over someones head. It looks flashy, never been done before, and yet again the sound of a skull crunching is AMAZINGLY AWESOME!!! Especially if its a stranger.

The one where he lifts his guitar in the air holding only the whammy bar...
Doesn't always work out as you'd hope tho (sometimes when I try to do so, it's ok, sometimes it just looks and sounds lame, takes practice...)

EDIT. To wardyh, obvously.

When pulling up on a whammy bar, lift the entire guitar by the bar. It's on his Ibanez artist page where he talks about the S-series. It's also on one of their music videos.

you could also do the synyster gates or alexi laiho whammy thing. It's basically the same though he does in vertically instead of horizontal.

For an example, syn at the end of his afterlife solo on the live in lbc.

Check out all the freaky stuff Adrian Belew does.
He kinda did all the cool stuff, that people talk about today, during the seventies and eighties

I did this amazing thing I Came up with in my old band.

My vocalist would go to the centre of the stage and kneel down towards the audience.

He would then raise his hands above his head, and I'd put my guitar on it (basically using him as a keyboard stand, but then for my guitar)), and start playing piano style tapping licks on the guitar. (not that hard to learn a few, takes a 1 week practice or so)

It looked godly you don't wanna know, I got mad props from the crowd

(although the eyebrow raise at the start gets an honourable mention )

That's the look of a champion, right there.
Kinda like Guthrie at the start of this video.

Look up on youtube Muse - Plug in Baby live at Wembley , Matt has a nifty bag of tricks.

watch some Who videos :p

But one of my favorite stage trick is during a solo, I'll raise one hand in the air and point at the crowd while soloing with the other, and then as the songs ending I'll bring the guitar down and hit the drummer's cymbal. People love that.

i've said it before and i'll say it again. play well and play the right notes at the right time. seems a lot of people have trouble doing this.

well i can play dude, why else would i be here. im proficient enough and learning all the time but as far as accuracy, timing, technique and whatever else go, im fine.
i just think doing something a bit retarded to blow off some steam and give the crowd a memorable show would be cool

Anything Springsteen didn't do during the halftime show.

Edit: Except throwing his guitar, that's cool no matter what.
