Weird question- So when you see a professional band play live, the lead singer always has what seems to be a professional headset inside his ear, almost looks like a hearing aid. I am assuming they help with avoiding hearing damage, but do they also play back the vocals so the singer can hear them better? I am a lead singer and am thinking of getting some if they will help. Are these what I would look for-http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/headphones/in-ear-professional-headphones

They're in-ear monitors.

If I were to get something like this-

Would I also need a receiver? The description mentions something about it being wired if you dont have the transmixer---

"The Hybrid Receiver works as a standalone wired monitoring system or as a wireless receiver with the addition of the optional P2T-H2 TransMixer (sold separately). "
