GnR =/= Blues rock, not even close.

but

Les Pauls in blues rock?

Joe Bonamassa
Early Clapton
Peter Green
Zeppelin, especially Zeppelin 2 for heavy LP use (LP1 was tele heavy)
Gary moore
Warren Haynes
Robben Ford (not an LP, but same damn thing)
Dickey Betts and Duane Allman
Joe Walsh
Leslie West

haha

to TS - why does it have to be a Les Paul that is used, seem wrong to limit your self to music only played on Les Pauls?

MisterSandman, G&R is not blues rock....

Look at Cream, Hendrix, SRV...you'll find some blues rock there, then you'll learn to love Claptons later blues and SRV's true blues, and you'll forget about the "rock" part of Blues Rock

Canned Heat is one of my favorite blues rock bands, check them out if you actually want blues rock

AC/DC is pretty bluesy. Well, some of their older stuff that is

But yeah, Zeppelin, Cream, Hendrix
I'll pretend I can mod your amp but break it instead.

The kid wants stuff that sound like G&R.
Check Aeorosmith. You'll like it, and they use an LP. Search for them in last.fm and see their related artists.
