Hi ppl!

I like jamming with backing tracks and finding new ones is always a good thing.
Here are some sites that I've been using to download mp3s:

http://www.guitarbackingtrack.com/
http://www.guitarbt.com/index.php?page=dl_list
http://www.datamusic.org/

Please feel free to ADD to the list as much as possible

Note: generic tracks (rock, metal, blues, ambient, etc) are even more welcome then the particular songs as you can solo through the entire track rather then waiting for your "10 seconds".

Thanks!

You can still solo through an entire song if it's a proper backing track. Just go nuts, man. I've done that plenty of times with covers and my own songs. If there are no vocals just improvise until you run out of ideas and then start over.

Man, I jam over everything! I even jam over TV commercials to get ideas. Although I'm finding best melodies when I'm not holding a guitar.
No familiar (safe) finger patterns - otherwise we all repeat ourselves after 5 minutes of playing. I also listen other (non-string) instruments for ideas.
