I want new strings cause my old ones are...old. So I heard Ernie Ball strings are the best, and was looking into trying a set out. I want to try it on my strat first and I keep that in E standard, and play rock blues, and a bit of metal with it. What kind would you recommend, and what gauge would be best?

What's wrong with the gauge you have now?
I don't give a shit if you listen to me or not

Just experiment with different brands and different gauges until you find what is right for you. Nobody can tell you what will work for you and what won't.

blues strings generally= thin=ernieball not even slinkies (13)
metal strings generally=thick=ernieball superslinky

i like my DR tite-fit 10s though just depends on what and how you play.

13 is not thin homeboy. In fact, that's a down-tune gauge.

Overall, I'd recommend Dean Markley Blue Steels. Either 10-46 or 11-52 gauges. They're great strings and they last for months.

Wrong! Ernie Balls are great for tone...for about a week and a half, they die REALLY quickly. The only ones that are good are the Ernie Ball Titanium Coated strings that I bought to try, and they are not bad.

However, Elixir strings are pretty much the ****. For you, I would recommend 10-46 gauge, considering you mostly stay in E, but gauge is really dependent on personal preference, if you like light, go 9-42 etc.

I think you mean Elixers are pretty much ****, if you like good tone anyway.
