Hey folks and folksesses,

I have finished my original piece Alone Again; it's a melodic ambient piece of music written for 2 guitars, bass, drums and keys (pads), I am planning to eventually adapt it into a verse/chorus song but for now this is it. The version on my profile is VST MIDI but it gives you everything a live version would.

Please share your feedback on it. I've put quite a lot of effort into writing this piece so would appreciate some criticism. =)

C4C, of course.
Thanks,
Sam

Hey dude, that was nice! I can tell you put a lot of work into it. The whole track has a great feel to it, its nice and mellow and relaxing. The intro and outro were really well done, and the ambient string/synth noise elevates everything. I like the tone you have on your VST's, and the drum level is ideal. Are you using EZDrummer? This is the type of track I'd expect to hear in some adventure or RPG video game.

keep it up dude!

Hey, thanks for the reply. =) I'm glad you like it!

Yeah, I used EZDrummer for the drum sounds. I tried a demo of addictive drums but didn't get on with it very well so used EZ.

Maybe when I've made a live version of it it may one day be used for synchronisation (on a game) that'll be something to work towards!

The string pads were from a VST called DSK Strings, which I manipulated slightly. The guitars and bass are from Slayer and the synth voice (behind the melody) was from Embracer. Each one I added a few insert effects to to change them up/personalise them.
