i've been craving a fatter or heavier sound for my guitar...or both. here are two pedals i've come across that look like they can get the job done.

i like the fatness and fuzz of the octavio, but i also like the pure craziness of the v8. what do you guys think? or do you know of any other pedals that you think could get this job done?

also, have you looked at the ottava magus by catalinbread instead of the octavio?

yeah i prefer the octavio over that.

its still a tough choice, just listening to those first few notes the guy plays on that octavio just make me want it so bad!...i got some hard thinking...or i just get em both lol

well of course you get them both. just decide in what order lol.

like, i'm going to get an HBE psyilocybe (i know i spelled that wrong...it is their phaser), a custom fuzz that my shop has, and a flanger (still undecided on which one). probably pick up another fuzz along the way (crazy horse maybe?) and perhaps a more controllable chorus.

in what order even i dont know!

You definitly want both...... I have a floor littered with pedals... and 3 processors to boot.... The only way I ever got that Fat, Heavy, Mindblowing roar..... Was the right pickups..... I like Seymours, Dimebags and Pearly gates in particular, Screw the actives, I had the EMG 81/85 set up in an Explorer, I sold the thing... and......... a good tube amp. I have a 1963 tweed Musicman 150 watt tube stack...... Not much use for anything but delay these days. The amp and the pickups do it all. If I want warm and fuzzy? I just kick the ABY switch to the Randall 200 stereo chorus head.
FAT sound? Good pickups, and a tube amp...... Thats my 2 cents worth.... Aint no pedal in the world that will make a whiney SS amp and cheap pickups sound Fat.
It just makes it whine different.

haha yeah well i got a marshall tsl 100 and i throught a seymour in my pickup so it is pretty fat but i think the lower octave or some crazy fuzz would be the icing on the cake.
