My little brother got some sharpie on my guitar a few days ago and I was wondering whats the best way to remove it. I've heard of bunch of different things that could work like vinegar, rubbing alcohol, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, hairspray, and Goof Off, but I don't want to ruin the finish or anything.

Axe body spray works, because of the high alcohol content. Shouldn't hurt the finish if its poly.

Battery acid is your best option

Wow thanks Joe, the Axe worked flipping wonders.

P.S Is there anything wrong with putting vinyl stickers on the guitar?

Acetone.
I dunno what it'll do to the finish, though.

EDIT: that's what you get for not reading through a thread. TS's problem has been soldved.

Use Naptha. It's not as harsh as acetone-- it will not hurt your finish but with a little bit of elbow grease it will take just about anything off.
