And Olga Kurylenko was HOT.

No, seriously though this film was pretty good.
Not as good as Casino Royale, but I enjoyed it more than Dark Knight to be honest.
You folks are going to crucify me for saying that but I think I'm sure with that.
And, yes it just came out in Japan...

I enjoyed it a lot, very thrilling, I'll get it on DVD like I did for Casino Royale.
It was more serious than the previous Bond Movies and more realistic.

but less like a bond film, fanstastic action movie no doubt, but still lacked the whole gadgets/awesome cool persona

It did lack gadgets, but I don't think it will survive with gagets as a franchise.
But I agree with you that it can be better with some cool gadgets.
But I think it had the cool persona...
I mean, Felix Leiter was an awesome character, as well as Camille.

yeh like you said, good action movie, not a good bond movie. too many of the classic bond themes were lacking, still a very enjoyable movie nonetheless

Those classic bond themes are dated and lame now though.

yeah, terrible. Plot was completely nonsensical. seriously... poor excuse for a bond movie. more like a michael bay movie. Which is the worst insult I can give an action movie. bad. all around. okay, I'm done now.

Has the recession come out in Japan yet? Or are you really that far behind?

What's-his-face is no Bond... Has no expression on his face, and James Bond died when Pierce Broson happened. Too much of a ladies man.
I somewhat tolerated Quantum of Solace though, but for you to say it was better than Casino Royale?! That struck a chord to me. Casino Royale sucked on a high level for myself.

The name is utter BS too, it's like saying "The Theory of Comfort in Distress" in two words. When he's not showing any acting skills I don't see any distress...
*shrugs* I don't know...

No, Bond movies come out in Japan very late all the time for some reason.

And the recession is affecting the Japanese workers, but not the middle class.
Things are cheaper so that's good, but car companies like Toyota and Honda are getting blowed bad in their face when they had to lay off many workers.

it had the hark back to goldfinger though, ie the chick on the bed drowned in oil. It was like the emo version of painting your women gold.

i thought the movie was OK, i thought the main bad guy in this one was particularly weak though which really threw me off. no where near as good as casino royale

lmao, nice reference.
The only complaint I had about the film was the ending, where Bond tracks down Vesper's ex-boy friend.
Not really satisfying when you're wanting "The name's Bond, James Bond"

Cheers for that, I forgot from his obviously, memorable skills on screen...

Also, someone pointed out the martini scenario, THAT IS BOND'S DRINK!
What's up with the 3 part Gordon Gin and 1 part vodka with lemon?! (though that'd be a nice kick in the head)

I asked my mum to order a vodka martini in a pub once so I can have a sip.
I told the waitress "Please ma'am, shaken, not stirred" lamely and she laughed and walked away.

Anyways, what a great drink.

Doesn't a vodka martini replace the gin...?
Either way, he could've at least asked for one instead of "What am I drinking?" some Bond he is :P

Can't see a lot of advertising...
I mean they dubb all movies, but most hollywood films come out at the same time, if not earlier, than in America.

Personally I thought it was still a bit too cheesy.

I mean a car chase, a boat chase, a plane chase, a foot chase AND a bike chase? Too much.

I rather the Bourne Movies.

But with more shooting and a weirder story. Blocking rivers in underground caverns? Must've taken a bit to think of that. Also the bond chick was hotter.

Good as an action film. Crud as a Bond film.
There was no story whatsoever, I don't get how it tied into the other one... Casino Royale at all.

It's just another Bourne film. A classic example of how a Bond film should be is Goldeneye, its got everything in that makes James Bond? The new style of bond film though is just not bond at all

Well, Casino had Vesper killed, so Bond goes and tracks down anyone responsible for it.
I think the next one might be about how he uncovers the further secrets of Quantum.
