alright this might be in the wrong forum, i didnt know where it would fit best, so if it is, sorry

my band kicked me out bout a week ago. the rhythm guitarist left with me, and were working on getting other members, but as of now, it doesnt seem likely right now. ive been playing for awhile, and can handle some difficult songs, and am really looking for a good challenge after the simple crap i was stuck with playing in the last band.

I can already play, or am working on:
BRO - Racer x
Get out of my yard - paul gilbert
Eruption, Spanish fly - Van halen
Midnight - Joe Satriani

and while classical guitar isnt too popular, i have learned austerias leyenda by isaac albeniz and Toccata in D minor by Bach

any ideas?

b) What was the question?

Seems like OP was asking for difficult songs to learn.

If you're into fingerstyle guitar try to learn "Drifting" by Andy McKee.

Some more electric stuff to check out would be "Scarified" by Racer X, "Master of Puppets" by Metallica (all downpicking) "Flying in a Blue Dream" by Satch has some interesting licks as well.

Sounds like you and you're friend are looking to start an instrumental group together. So, go for it. Write some stuff using those songs as an inspiration and remember to use theory for modes and harmonies. Maybe start off covering one of those songs.

get your act together with your buddy, and go on talent shows or wherever you can play before some peeps, then get the bandmates flowing when they'll see/hear you playin'.

Good rockin'
I love music, if music would be a girl then I'd date her, until then let's get back on Earth

glasgow kiss - john petrucci
Satch Boogie - Joe Satriani
Technical Difficulties - Paul Gilbert
Vivaldi - Any of the four seasons on guitar
Cette nuit j'ai rêvé que je mâchais ses yeux
Après avoir crevé par accès de furie
Ta replète panse d'helminthes blancs nourrie,
Trop prompte à déféquer le fruit d'un vit sanieux.

good songs all, but you know how all the songs i listed could be played with just one guitar and not lose any of the effect? i mean like that. i have no band to play in front of people, which i like doing. but i can handle harder songs
