In your humble opinion, what is the best Rock instrumental released to date?

Mine is a dangerously close tie between YYZ and La Villa Strangiato

I think there's a similar thread on the 1st page, but....

Underture/Overture - The Who

A kid took a fetal pig during pig dissection, put a napkin on it as a cape, wrote "super pig" on it, then threw it out the window onto the greenhouse below, yelling "super pig, blast off!". He failed the pig lab

Cette nuit j'ai rêvé que je mâchais ses yeux
Après avoir crevé par accès de furie
Ta replète panse d'helminthes blancs nourrie,
Trop prompte à déféquer le fruit d'un vit sanieux.

Soothsayer.

YYZ and La Grange, because La Grange's lyrics aren't really part of the song, just kind of ornamental.

The second half of Free Bird.

In Memory of Elisabeth Reed ( Live at the Fillmore) by The Allman Brothers band.

Soul Sacrifice, by Santana.

Bottoms up, by Peter Green ( it's the musical equivalent of an acid trip)

A Saucerful of Secrets ( live at Pompeii version) by Pink Floyd.

White Summer/ Black Mountain Side, by Led Zeppelin.

Moby Dick, by Led Zeppelin.

Stepping Out, by John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers ( featuring Eric Clapton)

Sparks, by The Who ( the woodstock version is insane)

YYZ or most Buckethead songs!

Holy ****, I totally forgot about buckethead. Almost 98% of his songs don't have lyrics.. just badass guitar riffs..

I like this man.

I would say Main Monkey Business or Malignant Narcissism or Hope (all from Snakes and Arrows), or La Ville.

Probably La Ville.
