Hey GB&C Junkies.

I have had an old encore body lying around my room for some time now. I decided to sand it. Using just my hand, no sanding block, no electric sander. Next time i work on it, I am going to use our electric sander.
I have only been sanding it for about 20 minutes.

Pictures After:

I am thinking about just clear coating it, even though the wood isnt very good.

Alot more to come throughout the project. So Keep an eye out.

EDIT: More/Higher qaulity pictures available at http://www.flickr.com/photos/29457927@N04/

Use a block sander or palm sander. your fingers will leave ridges in the guitar and your finish will be uneven.

I will have to wait and see about the rest of the wood once i have sanded the rest of it, If it is terrible underneath then I will paint it, otherwise Im just going to put some wood stain on and clear coat or wax it.

When your down to the wood, remember to only sand with the grain.

Heres some more pictures taken indoors:

I did a little bit more sanding towards the bottom after I took the original pictures.
I might work on some more after school some days, if not, next weekend.

if its not raining tomorrow, I will be doing more sanding. I plan on getting the front sanded within the next week. Anyone got any good ideas for sanding inside the horns?

Wrap the sandpaper around something cylindrical.

Ok awesome. I'm guessing the horns are quite a tough bit to do.

Since its raining outside so I havent been able to do any sanding, I decided to look at what I will need to build the guitar back up again. here is the list of stuff i put together, i have nothing else at all except the body
do i need anything else?

EDIT:
If I buy these parts, this is the hopeful result of what the guitar will look like
