Hello.

My name is Adam, I am 17, I pla-

Whatever, here's the deal

I'm looking for a new amp. My information etc is below:

  • Between £250-£1000
  • Hi gain, I play stuff like Trivium, Nightwish, In flames etc
  • Loud enough for small - medium sized gigs
  • Versatile if possible
  • Have alot of low end clarity, seeing as I use 7 strings exclusively, and the tunings that come with that(Drop A, Drop G, Standard B, Standard A, Drop D, Standard E )

Help me please, thankyou

You want an effects pedal for a specific genre, not a specific amp.
Gear;
- B.C. Rich Warbeast Bloodbound
- B.C. Rich NT Zombie 5-String Bass
- BOSS GT-10 Multi Effects TANK!
...In other words, I'm taking a giant dump on fender owners who use pods.

You're thinking too much into America's options my dear fellow :p

6505, JSX, XXX, ENGL are all good, viable options however.

Have a look at a Hiwatt combo, one of the 2x12 50w ones probably. Not flashy but good, solid and reliable. Should get one just within your budget.
I pick up my guitar and play

I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

maybe... i've seen the xlr-evo head advertised for £1000, but that's not including the (necessary) cab... plus with the falling pound, they may be more expensive now.

+1, I sometimes use my Strat for thrash. Makes for a unique sound when compared to a humbucker.

A guitar is only as ladylike as its player.

In DecayingDave's situation, that's pretty ladylike, for a dude named Dave. And on Strats for metal, Iron Maiden.

Surely with enough gain you just get crappy feedback though?

You tend to once it gets louder. That's why I'm buying a Epi/Gibson/ESP/PRS/Ibanez/Jackson this summer.

JSX

Tons of low end clarity. Played my friends today and got killer metal tones out of it... If you want even more chuggys then throw an OD on top of the lead channel but you don't need it... also responds really well to pick attack, tube changes, string changes, pick thickness/material, a very sensitive amp to little details and makes it very fun to explore. Whereas (IMO) the 6505 is a fizzy mess. (IMO, just judging from what i heard at Guitar Center...)

If you're serious, a lemon is basically a model that is crappily made compared to others of it's kind. A Gibson Les Paul Studio that has terrible tone compared to another Gibson Les Paul Studio.
