I bought a slide a few months ago so I might as well learn how to use it. Is their any easy songs that use a slide I should try?
Just randomly jam out on some blues... Thats the best way to learn to handle those things.

Dude, I think I would know, Trivium invented Thrash, Metallica are lucky they got as far as they did piggy-backing off of Trivium's signature style.
Do some searches for different techniques. Damping the strings with the left hand, plucking with the right hand fingers. How not to sound like a cartoon character bouncing on a trampoline.

You should search for some different slide players from Duane Allman to Beck's Loser song and figure out which styles you like. Bad to the Bone or One Way Out?

There are tons of good lessons on youtube for this stuff.
the solo for Like A Stone by Audioslave is cool to play with a slide

but thats not really what a slide is for :P
