not after i heard My Chemical Romance butcher a classic Bob Dylan song for the movie.

.... You've lost interest in a movie 20+ years in the making that is based on the greatest graphic novel ever written because a band made a cover of a song you didn't like?

the book is amazing. i bought it on boxing day because the movie trailer looked cool....i've almost finished reading it for the 2nd time in the month that i've owned it

i have a feeling Ozymandias is gonna be really queer in the movie. I just hope the different ending doesnt lose the real ending's impact, if you know what i mean. Also I hope the actor can live up to Rorschach. I can't wait to see Walter Kovacs in jail

Why would it make a difference? Did you see the movie and watch the original ending anyway?

But I'm excited also

They changed the ending to the graphic novel.

From what I've read, it's nothing drastic. It's not Snyder's style to deviate from the original story like that.

You might be thinking of the original 1988 screenplay that changed the ending completely, but the Hayter screenplay keeps the original ending intact.

According to Wiki, the ending is there, but the details of it all are a bit more simplified, so there can be more screentime for the build up of it call.

Believe me, if Zach Snyder is at the helm of an adaptation film, you have no reason to be afraid of large scale, strange changes to the story.

Yeah, and that has me slightly worried.

I'm excited to see it, but I don't think it will be a groundbreaking film. Hopefully I'm wrong, because the graphic novel deserves a movie of near equal value to truly do it justice. And that might be asking for too much...

But from the small bits that I've seen from trailers and such the movie looks really good...but not great.

Go there, click on "Ozymandias" at the bottom, if the site doesn't automatically start it.

The explosion in the city, I can tell just from that scene that the ending is intact.

No problem.

I got interested in finding info again, and I figured I would venture outside of the New Frontiersman site, and that was the first link on Google.

After hearing Rorschach's voice at a good length for the first time, it's odd. I like, I really do. It fits the character, and it has a good tone. I just wish it was deeper, and a bit more blunt, like Alan Moore's take on it in this video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMSBvPJkWTA

I guess it has a lot to do with it being Moore, but I think that's pretty much the perfect Rorscach voice.

So who is going to buy the Tales from the Black Freighter DVD? I was afraid it would just end up on the cutting room floor. I'm glad Zack Snyder decided to take the time to make it...

That's one cool thing about Zack Snyder, he's definitely a comic book geek.

I will, for sure.

Also, according to Wiki, whenever the DVD is released, there will be a special edition that re-incorporates the "Tales" bits back into the film, making it run just like the graphic novel would.

This also means that it will have a runtime around three and a half to four hours.

My friend has recommended the graphic novel to me for a long time, still haven't read it. Watched the trailer and saw some chick in leather, blue dudes, and an Asian peasant's head being blown off. That evidence leads me to believe it'll probably be good.
