I personally think humbuckers, but some people like the buzz and twang of single coils...

So, which do you think is better for metal, humbuckers or single coils?!!?!?

Metal normally implies a high gain sound, with a conventional set of single coils they just dont provide the sound needed. Humbuckers were designed to cancel the "hum" which came with using high gain and singles.

In general humbuckers, but it you know what you are doing, and you like the sound of single coils, then they work too.

define "metal"

typically, humbuckers are the way to to for reasons already mentioned

you can use any guitar for anything you want, there is no "rule" to which guitar goes with which genre...or which pick ups for which genre, its all personal preference

I love the sound of heavily gained single coils but the proper "metal" sound comes from humbuckers.

single coils....every known metal band plays with single coils...metallica....pantera....megadeth....slayer....all use single coils through vintage tweed amps.
