ok i have a fender strat, and when ever i use the volume nob to lower or turn up the volume it makes a weird noise. it only does it when i turn the nob. what's wrong with it ? and how to i fix it?

It's probably because you have a volume nob on there instead of a volume knob. Try putting a volume knob on your guitar and then maybe it will work.

Serious answer- Your potentiometer is dirty. If you don't know how to clean it yourself, take it to a tech to do it for you. It's a fairly simple procedure so I recommend googling it and doing it yourself.

Can't hurt it, that's for sure. Ask the google machine, you'll get faster answers.

Your pot is bad LOL (potentiometer-the thing the knob sits on).

They are easlily replaced unless you're uncomfortable doing it, then have a guitar tech or luthier do the work. It's not very expensive, either.
