Hey everyone!

Well, I did it. I bought my first (and hopefully last) guitar.

It's a 1998/1999 Standard Fender Stratocaster (MIM)

I bought it from the original owner, who never modified it.

I'll add some more info/pics later (I'm at school now )

EDIT: Some more info

Paid $350, came with a Crate GX-15R amp, Zoom GFX-707, soft case, stand, tuner, a few picks, and 2 cables.

Guitar is like new except for a couple cracks in the paint near the neck. Otherwise, it just needs a good cleaning.

Neck is smoother than butter. Better than a new MIA IMO. Maybe it was polished?

Sounds great, can definitely hear the extra power from the late 90's pickups.

Pickup selector switch works great too.

Gotta check out the tone knobs though, I couldn't really hear anything going on when I adjusted them. But I'm not sure what to listen for either.

nice man, your lucky to start on a MIM strat, my first electric was a crappy no-name strat

I had a Fender Squier Bullet at one time- Sunburst with a maple fretboard. Sold it, and then spent the next six years looking for the Perfect Guitar (i.e; the one that would make me a great player instantly).

Anyway, finally figured it out. A Strat with a maple fretboard. Home again, at last!

Welcome to the club!

P.S. I'm still not a great player, but I tend to practice more often with my "Baby" back in my arms

Nice buy dude!

Oh, and there is no way that will be your last guitar. Eventually you'll get permanent GAS and will always want new stuff.

Well, I bought the MIM (instead of a Squier or something of the sort) so that I wouldn't have to upgrade to an entirely new guitar.

Strat's are my favorite guitar, and have been for several years now, and I never even considered buying anything else.

I figured I'd by my "dream" Strat now, and just upgrade the hardware in the future if I ever felt the urge to do so. Cheaper, and also allows me to keep my first guitar.

Also, IMO, there's something sentimental about having your first guitar be your only.

Besides, I have no need (or desire) for another guitar right now.
