what's happening to them that this'll be the 3rd time you've replaced them ?

either way my vote goes to sperzel locking tuners.
i used to be a mod, then i took an arrow in the knee.

Yes they are the Gibson Deluxe

I've replaced them because they start going out of tune and i've triedre-stringing and stretching the strings but it still goes out of tune

locking tuners are useless on a gibson.
the fixed bridge moves and you would still constantly have to tune
after each song.

what is wrong with the ones you have now?
just go with standard gibson tuners.

I didn't say Deluxe, get Gibson tuners, just look for something NOT deluxe.

Yea, i heard alot of good on Schaller.
Google and Yahoo!Answers could be good if you have more questions.
Or obviously this site.
I play Fender so i don't deal with Gibson drawbacks,
despite the fact im looking at an Epi Studio Les Paul.
If i were you i'd try schaller but its your call.

Waverly's are considered right up there and cost accordingly. Nothing wrong with Grovers either. The issue will be finding direct replacements that a) match the screw holes already drilled in your headstock and b) fit into the post holes drilled already.
Moving on.....

what...

...anyways... definately schallers or some grovers would be a great addition. The only thing you gotta worry about is the pin hole size. some light drilling might be required.

Gibson Bridge=Moves while playing. Thats why they should be tuned after most songs unless you play a song where there is no playing. oh, wait, thats impossible!!!

Hah, Guitar Center owns Musiciansfriend.com.

In any case, if you want to replace the tuners, I like Grover Sta-Tite tuners.

On the other hand, there is nothing you can replace to make your guitar stay in tune all the time. It will always need occasional tuning. That's why I judge tuners by how easily I can tune with them, which is why I love the Sta-Tites. I replaced the tuners on my Takamine not because they didn't hold tune, but because tuning with the Grovers is sooooo much nicer.

what the hell are you getting on about? It's called a Fixed Bridge for a reason, you know. Tuners aren't perfect, they go out of tune after a while.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

He's referring to slight shifts in the seating of the saddle, a problem recently rectified by the TonePros locking Tune-o-Matic bridge. I don't know if Gibson uses the locking bridge on their guitars, but I have one on my Schecter.

I don't know if it really makes all that much of a difference, though, since I would have a tendency to agree that the stretching of the strings will cause the guitar to go out of tune regardless of the fancy upgrades it has (though to a lesser extent, potentially).

Oh, that... though how much would it shift? not nearly enough to REALLY throw your tuning.

Though, Tonepros bridges are so nicely made and the fact that they lock down really improve tone too.

I don't think so either, but you know guitarists, always obsessing about performance

I just like the fact that the bridge doesn't fall off when I take all of the strings for cleaning and fretboard conditioning.

If 2 sets have gone bad, have you ever considered it may not be the tuners? It could be the nut. Try putting a little pencil graphite into the nut slots and see if it improves it at all
#29
string it up properly
new strings continuously stretch wait a few days
Every guitar goes out of tune unless the strings are like 1 year old and cannot stretch no more but are dirty as hell...
