so please oh sages of gear customization help me out shed some light on this subject so that i may make a wise decision, and start my journey to guitar gear sage-dom

What genres of music do you play?

Traynor YCS50 is your amp I presume?

DiMarzio did me good, you be looking at $70-$80 a pup
and learning to solder will cut the installation cost down from circa $30 to about $10

you could get a custom set, or some nice dimarzios or Duncans for that price.

sorry, for all-around verstility, you could get the DiMarzio AirZone or FRED (not really sure on these though, never played them myself). For Duncans, the JB/59 combination seems popular for all-around players.

About the customs, you can get some users on here to custom-wind you a set of pickups. CordoroyEW and nuthinbuttrubl8 both give discounts to UGers, and you can probably get a discount from www.tonefordays.com from LPaddict. If you go on that site, you can see the different options available
