it's alright. Not bad. Needs a bit of work, but it appears to be coming along nicely. How long you been playing?
#3
Is there even a level system we can place you in? Can't really judge you unless I know how long you've been playing.

guitar isn't an RPG. you don't reach levels, you just have fun playing stuff. you shouldn't care about what "level" you're at

i guess so. I could say that but i do want to become really serious with this so id like to know how much i should try harder to improve.

that's a better way of saying it :P

you're technique is very good, just work on your tone (too much gain) and really just practice, practice, practice until you can't practice no more

I can tell you've got picking technique down well and fingering not too bad if you were able to do the Trooper solo. You just need to practice getting the rhythm down more 'cause you went off quite a few times. Just keep practicing and I'm sure you'll do great. You're pretty good for a year and three months, I suppose.

I watched the trooper cover it seems like your to anxious to do good and you sped everything
Up just relax next time and youll do better
Ps your tone bugs me its way to bright imo but whatever floats your boat man

yea i know i messed up pretty bad on the trooper. I get pretty nervous in front of a camera. Plus my house is really hot on the weekends cause my mom is always home and she maxes out the heat so that messes me up a bit also. And for the tone, im accepting any sudgestions on that. I normaly have my trebble at max and my mid at 7 while my bass is at 3. Resonance at 4 and pressence maxed. I try to get the best megadeth tone.

The numbers I use refer to positions on a clock. The best metal tone you could go for would be to have the treble at one a clock, bass at two or three, mids at ten, gain at about 6 or 7, and back off the presence a bit.

wow thanks. theese tones are pretty awesome. Its something really new. I always and i mean always had my trebble at max. My palm mutes chug now but they dont have that old crunchy noise though.

Pretty good, IMO.
You seemed stressed in the Trooper Vid.

On a side note, what'd you use to get good sound quality? Cause my sound quality of my covers on youtube sucks >.>
