I got an assignment in English class to write a resume for any job that I would like. So of course wanting to somehow incorporate music into a career is something that I definitely want to strive for.

So I ask of you guys, what are some jobs that have to deal with music in any form or manner that I could possibly pick and then write a resume for. This could also help others in seeing what kind of jobs there are dealing with music.

(if this is in the wrong section I will gladly move it. )

By that do you mean the fellows that sit in and play if someone recording needs an extra part played?

Yeah. Someone who is hired by an artist to play on their recording.

Most RnB stars do it.

Cool that's what I thought

My question to that is how does one come into that field?

Is it like official like "Okay we are going to hire you for X amount of hours for X amount of money"

Is it more like, people hear that you are good and your name is spread that way and pay varies?

Both. You have to get your name out there first and then more jobs will come.

I believe most people try to audition at a record company (Like Donald Duck Dunn and Steve Crooper did) and then they become like...house musicians...

So anyone have any other insight into this topic? I searched around online and only found music teaching for children and music therapy as the biggest results.
