I don't know why this made me laugh. "I'm tuning my guitar down... while I'm down here, what should I play?"

It's like "I'm going to the store. Do you need me to pick up anything while I'm out?"

Sorry. I'm not really contributing here. C standard seems like the tuning that gets ignored in that register...Eb and D are very common and I've seen lots of stuff in C#, and of course all the baritone/7string/ imitation tunings have the low B, but what's become of C?!

No it's not. As I am uses a 7 string. Stream of Consciousness is in Eb and Endless Sacrifice is in D standard. Not sure on the others but In The Name of God is in C Standard.

Why do you use the advanced search and search by C tuning
#19
Keskimaki

actually almost all there songs are on most thier albums, but on the newer albums they drop the low string to #a

but there are the odd song thats d standard, standard, and Eb
most of of those are acoustics tho, except for December flower which i believe is d standard

I could be wrong but I think the following use c standard:

High on Fire
Sleep
Kylesa

A lot of Queens of the Stone Age songs are, but NOT all of them. If you do a search on thefade.net (i think) they have pics of various setlists. Next to the songs they have various tuning, usually C or E. So yeah.

Thats all I can think of for now.

Sleep had THE best riffs. Learn those. I don't even know what they tune to but its heavy. I'm sure Dopesmoker/Jerusalem was C or lower though!

Alot of those are in Dropped C tuning as opposed to C Standard, just pointin' out
Acid Bath is in C Standard i believe
#28
well, you could just play whatever you want really. sometimes i go down to that and i play the same songs i do in normal tuning...which for me is actually Eb. i like to play blues sometimes down in C cause when the strings are like that i can get some pretty wide bends going. it makes it eaiser to hit 2 step bends for sure. i can do it in Eb but its a lot harder. especially since i use 12's.

Let me clear it up,
I'm going to have my guitar with a locking tremolo set up to be in C standard because I like to compose in that tuning.I've played in C standard before with no locking nut guitars. Its a pain in the ass to change the tuning of a locking trem guitar so I just wanted to know which bands also played in c standard so I if i were to cover a song it would be easier.

Or pick the song you want to play first, and then change the tuning and possibly the key so that it works. Its not that hard.

Most of Black Sabbath's stuff is in C or C# standard (can't remember which).
They play in standard tuning plenty, but I've only ever seen them tune down to C# (which is ridiculous to say but commonly used).

well the guitarist's fingers were mangled in an accident or something so he tuned down

Everyone knows he cut off several fingertips, but I've only ever heard them play in standard tuning or standard down 1 1/2 steps.
