What pickups do you have in it?

What amp/pedals are you using?

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

I'd either grab a Seymour Duncan SFX-01 Pickup Booster or throw some Hot Rails in your strat.

An SD Hot Rail for a Strat and an SFX-01 Pickup Booster are exactly the same price on the guitarcenter website.

^ Lil 59 > Hotrails. TS really pickup replacement is no more expensive than the booster you are looking into and will make your guitar that much more versatile.

^ Keep the neck pickup and just replace the bridge.

yeah, looks like a clean boost will suffice here.

look at an MXR micro amp ($79) or perhaps a catalinbread super chili ($139) or anything else inbetween.

they will help with the overall output of your guitar signal, which in turn will lead to a "hotter" sound.

what amp are you using again? and what pups are in your strat right now?
