does anyone know of any good mp3 compression software that is free? Preferably one that I can use while exporting from Sonar 3.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

RazorLAME - http://www.dors.de/razorlame/

To use it with sonar, you will have to first export as a .wav file, then convert the .wav with Razor Lame.

lame mp3 encoder. And are you sure Sonar doesn't have a free mp3 encoder? it's kinda strange...

nope, mine doesn't anyway. It came with a really nice trial edition of a good encoder, it has expired though and now I would have to pay a lot of money for it in order to use it again.

I think you should be asking this on Sonar forums instead.

perhaps, but I assumed wave to MP3 encoders were very common among musicians.

You would get better answers in the Riff and Recordings section, not the Musician Talk.
