What model of Ibanez runs around this price range? I have no knowledge of the different models so any help would be appreciated. Also I'm looking into getting a natural wood finish model, if a local place doesn't have what i'm looking for would my best bet to be to buy it off of a site like Musician's Friend? Sorry I obviously don't have much knowledge in purchasing guitars

edit: Strat style, single coils and a humbucker if possible, don't plan on playing metal just want a versatile guitar. Decided against a strat because its over done and I don't think I'll always want that signature strat tone when i'm playing.

As far as I know, the black one that is just $700 is no different than the others, just likely a couple years older, judging by the list price difference, but apparently same specs. Either way, for a Prestige model, $700 is great!

Or that same guitar in natural for $800 http://www.ibanezrules.com/new/rga121.htm

The thing is, that model is discontinued, so it won't be available forever.

Thanks, I do like those although they are starting to get a little out of my league.

I like the ibanez's with the fretboard that appears to be "outlined" like there is inlay running along the outsides. I can't describe it much better than that

Hrmm, I'm guessing you mean a bound neck? Guitars with neck binding do look very nice to me, too. They're not really a good measure of quality or anything though, if you're wondering. Some high end guitars are unbound, and some cheap guitars are bound, it's more just an appearance thing. For example, most binding is white, but if you bound a maple neck and maple fretboard, it would be kind of pointless. Looks really snazzy with ebony fretboards though.

EDIT: You edited your original post. Are you saying you want a humbucker in the bridge and a single in the neck (HS), or humbucker in the bridge with a humbucker in the neck, with a single in the middle (HSH)? Or perhaps HSS? HSH is the most common for Ibanez, and in my opinion the middle single coil gives an incredible sound for clean/slight distortion playing, ala Tool.

Oh and, do you want a Floyd Rose or not?

If you do, and can get the extra $100, get this: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Ibanez-RG2570Z-Electric-Guitar?sku=518082
That's quite a bit off of the normal price.

I don't really think I want a floyd rose, never do anything like divebombs and it would probaby just be more of a hassle than anything

The Ibanez SZR520 seems good for you. I would recommend the S's but seeing as you don't want a FR this is more appropriate
