I need to choose a song and relate it to Shakespeare's love sonnets or carpe diem poetry for English class. I was thinking about using Tears Don't Fall by Bullet for my Valentine, but can help me think of some good songs to compare?

Godhead's Lament

Marauder
Staining the soil, midst of stillness
Beloved fraternity to an end
Red eyes probe the scene
All the same
Stilted for the beholder
Depravity from the core
Handcarved death in stoneladen aisles

I hide the scars from my past
Yet they sense my (mute) dirge
This is when it all falls apart
White hands grasping for straws

Sly smile, poisoned glare behind
Undisguised manmade nova
Mute cry, don't dare to tread
Searing beams tracking you down

Adoring what never has been
Some will bring with them all they have seen

Searching my way to perplexion
The gleam of her eyes
In that moment she knew

Thought I could not leave this place
On this imminent day
As I've reached the final dawn
To what's gone astray
What would they care if I did stay
No-one would know
What would they care if I did stay
No-one should know

Thought I could not leave this place
On this imminent day
As I've reached the final dawn
To what's gone astray
What would they care if I did stay
No-one would know
What would they care if I did stay
No-one should know

Still brooding, soothing clam
That rigid, twisted face
Blank godhead, tear my name
Lost virtue, frantic lust

Sly smile, poisoned glare behind
Undisguised manmade nova
Mute cry, don't dare to tread
Searing beams tracking you down

Adoring what never has been
Some will bring with them all they have seen

Searching my way to perplexion
In crumbling faith I saw her
Bearing her pain in the wilderness
The gleam of her eyes
In that moment she knew
Let's not bicker and argue about who killed who...

Dream Theater- A Change of Seasons.
"I'm reaching up and reaching out,
I'm reaching for the random or what ever will bewilder me.
And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been."

"habit" by jump, little children, but only because i remember it uses the phrase "carpe diem."

still, it's worth a listen.

Are you asking if midgets can draw people that are themselves smaller than the average person, or if midget drawings in general are smaller?

I was going to say this.

Definitely. PLEASE use this song.

...Your presentation will definitely be the longest, unless you just use Carpe Diem, which is one of the song's sections.

Your right that is PERFECT, thank you so much. The Carpe Diem part even uses parts from some of the poems we're reading which just makes it just exactly what i need. I think my paper might actually be good now, thank you.

Anyways. Romeo and Juliet - Dire Straights.

Or just general love, any 80s powerballad.

I haven't read many sonnets, all I can remember is the one "Shall I compare thee to a summers day...etc."

Not by me, its by Cheesepuff. LordBishek and Zero-Hartman.

We art no stranger to love
Ye knowest the rules, and I doth as well.
A dream perchance! Of a full commitment.
Forsooth, from another gentleman you would not receive this.
It would pleaseth me if thou were to hear of my instincts.
Alas! You understand not, so I shall teacheth thy ways

Never shalt I let thee go from the embrace of mine passions,
Nor shalt thine faith in my character be misplaced!
O! I shalt never flee from and forsake thee
Thou shalt not weep
And I shall never bid thee farewell
Or utter an untrue oath and wound thee

An eternity have I known thee for.
Thine bosom acheth with unrequited love for me
Thou cannot speaketh the words on thy tongue
In thy soul, betwixt us, we verify this deed
Alas, this wretched play we know will be played!
And if thou would asketh mine feelings,
pray, do not tell me thou art blind to my woes!

(Repeateth thy chorus x2)

(Ooh forsake thee, ooh forsake thee

Ooh forsake thee, ooh forsake thee)

Ne'er Will I aquiste!
Ne'er will I aquiste!

It would pleaseth me if thou were to hear of my instincts.
Alas! You understand not, so I shall teacheth thy ways

(Repeateth thy chorus till it fadeth unto nothing)
