That pretty much sums it up lol.

If I wanted to get something as identical to a Gibson LP Custom would going with a EC-1000 be my best bet?

Just thinkin out loud here.

LTD= Generally more for metal, flat-top, tons of abalone, good price/quality ration

Gibson= More expensive before you get a good price/quality ratio, carved top, imo looks better.

Screw the looks in this case.

We're talkin performance here.

OK my bad jesus christ calm down...

Not all ECs are carved. I've seen an EC-400 in person and it was most certainly flat. I assumed the EC-1000 might be as well.

Too many factors that can effect how well it would perform for someone.

In other words, try it/them.

I tried the EC-1000 and thought it was just dandy.

Unfortuntely never tried a GIBSON LP Custom because whenever I go to guitar center or sam ash's they always end up like 100 feet up on the wall (guitar center) or 50 feet up the wall and behind the cash register (sam ash). I just never get around to asking to get it down lol.

If you're going to get a guitar with active PUPs make sure you have a Valve amp. Only then does it make Active PUPs worthwhile.

LTD EC-1000 (and 500 I believe) is arched top =/ But I'd personally spend a bit more and go for the ESP Eclipse II. Looks and plays better
