So Im hard pressed for time a lot, with school, sports, etc. so Ive come to the conclusion that Ive only got time each day to guarantee one technique to focus on each day while still leaving time to work on my own songs/ideas. Do you think once a week is enough to work on a certain technique?

No, then you might get better at one technique but out of practice at all the others

no. you dont need to spend more than about 15 minutes a day on a certain technique anyway. your mind works better when there are more frequent short sessions of something. make sure what you are practicing in that time is clean and accurate though. you dont want to remember mistakes.
