Okay, so last week or so I asked your opinion on a Line 6 Bogner Valve, and I got told to try some other stuff, so I did. I tried a Framus Cobra, and now I'm pissed because I can't buy it and it sounded AMAZING!

Anyways, now I'm looking for an amp I can get. I play mostly metal like Metallica, Anthrax, Trivium, and Killswitch Engaged. Obviously a tube amp, and I would like a half stack. My budget is around 1500 USD.

I've been looking at a Mesa Dual Rectifier, but I'm not sure if that is within my price range. Thanks for any advice in advance!

Blackface Mesa Single Rec. for $800 + Marshall 1960a 4x12 for $500 = Awesome rig within your budget.

I know that Triple Rectifiers generally sell for $1200-$1400 used in the states, so a Dual Recto + 4x12 should be within your budget.

You could also look at Peavey 5150's or 6505's.

In that case I'd look for a Splawn Super Comp and then maybe an Avatar cab.

Seriously, you will need to search thru and keep track of used gear on craigslist, eBay, and gear classified sections like here and Harmony Central. That's were you will find your best bets. A new Avatar 212 cab is $400, so if you went the all new route that would leave you with $1,100. 6505+ maybe. The new Peavey 3120 is $999 that right now includes a free cab. Sell the cab and get something else. Used JSX/XXX/F50/F30/ENGLs. I don't have a lot of experience with Mesa or Engl but there are plenty of guys on here that do.

Edit: ^what he said too.

NO....

Get a used Mesa/Boogie MKIII Simul-Class amp w/ the optional Graphic EQ, you'll have money left over.

My Mesa MKIII Coliseum Simul-Class head, clips:

That's a newer one, which is nice but I personally don't like it as much. I probably wouldn't pay more than $850 plus shipping for it though.
