hi,
i need a new axe for shredding ,etc.i'm kinda on a budget, and need a guitar for under £300.
criteria: MUST have:
Floyd / kahler
Hot Humbuckers
No central pickup

two volume knobs would be nice, but i will be installing a killswitch anyways.
was looking at a Peavey Rotor EX with floyd.Any other suggestions?

Check out ibanez RG's, Jacksons if u can afford

look at washburns aswell, decent guitars with decent specs at decent prices (no im not a sales rep from washburn)

http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/dx-10d/1216

its 20 dabs over budget, but definatey worth a look, 24frets and passive pickups

http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/rx-10d/1225

same as above, minus 2 frets but its a V :L

Now, this is what id go for
http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/76378

or in a differnt finish

http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/76378

Them vendettas a shred machines, the neck is perfect, the Floyd is better than the jacksons and the pickups are pretty good, but pickups are easily upgraded in time

and heres a B.C Rich for good measure http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/77802

i honestly dont think there are any ibanez's or esp's worth looking at for under £600 :L

The saddels will die after 5 or 6 months, and it will jsut lead to further expense, i have had good experience with them, trust me, on the lower end models, they aint worh si*t. Ping make the best LFR's

i dont give a crap about the life of a floyd, but i definitely need one. how does the vendetta stand against the rotor ex?

well peavey DO make good guitars. i have only played the rotor with out a floyd. i think the neck on the vendetta destroys the rotor. The dean is definately a moer advanced guitar, its one of their flagship models, in other words, they dont make much profit on them, but you definately get a great guitar.

my advice is dont go for low budget esp's, paying for the badge sort of thing. But that schecter looks great, good find

dude, if you dont mind me asking. what amp do you have, what tuning do you use, how long you been playing and whats your influences

just so i can have a better idea of what would be more suited

+1, if you say you're running through a Line 6 spider III 15 watt or a marshall MG I'll go suggesting a roland Cube 60/ small tube amp for that price.

oh and what Ibanez do you have right now, just so we're sure you'r not comparing apples n pears

'Practice amp' = amp you practice with? In my case, Peavey 6505+ and 4x12
I don't do things small

metallica,trivium,slayer,buckethead.
dual pots i need because they do not pop like kswitches,so are useful for breaking up chords, ect.
