i have the engl screamer and i'm very happy with it. i play stuff like tool, mastodon and so but also a "metallica sound" isn't a problem. i think kirk plays randall so maybe try one.
but bugera, engl or randall are a good choice to play metal with i think.

hmm anything more than 600 pounds is too expensive i would like to keep it under 500
so the engl thunder is pretty much out of my price range it looks good

What sort of output are you looking at?
Gear;
- B.C. Rich Warbeast Bloodbound
- B.C. Rich NT Zombie 5-String Bass
- BOSS GT-10 Multi Effects TANK!
...In other words, I'm taking a giant dump on fender owners who use pods.

I've heard that Kirk's amps are way overpriced. B-52 AT 112 over here across the pond are cheap for the kind of quality they offer and with an OD can definitly do hard rock and metal. But, I've also heard that they're kinda overprice for the kind of quality they offer in the UK so, yeah...

A pity you can't stretch the entra 50 quid for the ENGL so the Randall looks the best bet.

how much is 500 pounds usd? cuz if you are gonna get a bugera, the peavey counterparts are almost exactly the same, and they are much more reliable.

honestly, bugera is just a copy of peaveys, as so
6505/6505+ is 6260/6262
xxx/jsx is 333/333xl
the peaveys are just invincible versions

I would recommend the Peavey XXX or JSX. I use the XXX now and can get anything from a great hair metal tone to Metallica/Slayer tone.
