some of you may have heard of the passing of one of motocrosses greatest freestylers, and greatest people, Jeremy Lusk. Jeremy was a friend of mine and i wrote this song in his honor. RIP.

Put Down The Microphone
Dedicated to Jeremy Lusk

my head spins in circles.
rationality was thrown out long ago.
all my emotions are tied and tangled
knotted until they paralyze

this town will destroy us
ive seen it through his eyes
no tears could strike me down
not even as he dies

a thousand voices are screaming
yet i cant hear the words they speak
i try to speak but they are no words
bloodshot eyes are burning, so weak.

this town will destroy us
ive seen it through his eyes
no tears could strike me down
not even as he dies

and with all these things we do
we expect for them to last
and with all these things we do
we leave them in the past
and with all these things we do
what do we have in the end
and with all these things we do
here lies my friend

this town will destroy us
ive seen it through his eyes
no tears could strike me down
not even as he dies

and the constant pounding of my heart is driving me insane.
the luxy of a heartbeat is something we take advantage of
and it all seems so poetic in a sick sort of way
directed as a tragedy
written by the world, and sang by me.

so throw your arms up to the heavens and pray for the best
and i dont know how to say this
remember the number that comes after you
and remember the one before
these little things are what youll hold dear
these little things are all youll have in the end.
say your lines, push your emotions
and after the greatest finale the crowd will go silent
so remember your greatest and remember your worst.
i dont know how to say this.
im not exactly sure.
take your bow, close the curtain, put down the microphone.
put down the microphone.

feedback? i want this to be as good as it can possibly be when i write music to it.
