When I play high notes on my guitar it sounds like there is a tremolo effect on the sound (with a low depth and fast speed). Its less noticeable on the lower strings. The tremolo unit is off on the amp and turning it on works like usual. What could cause this?? Could the tremolo circuit be bleeding into the signal somehow?

How would it be the guitar? I'm not playing any sort of vibrato or anything, just straight notes.

No, I tested that - with the tremolo depth and speed on the amp set to 0, the tremolo that I hear is still at a high speed.

Sounds like ghost notes to me, which is the guitar's fault, not the amp.

Lower your pickups. The advised distance is, when pressing down on the last fret, 3mm to the polepieces. With single coils I'd go lower as the poles are the magnets themselves and pull harder.

It's a very common issue on Strats.

I'll check out the pickup spacing, but they're pretty low already - thanks for the tip though!

The strings are about a 2 weeks old and they're still nice and crisp I have practice tonight, so I'll test with our other guitarists guitar as well to make sure its the amp.

Do you have a fan on in your room? This occured to me and my friend when playing with a fan on in the room, causing some hgih notes to vibrate.
