Wait, so it's possible to remove kids from society and get paid for doing it?

Hot damn!

****ing judges.
I can think of a few that could definitely do with a public flaying.

Pretty shocking really, is a spoof myspace page really a crime?

Technically, yes, but if anything it'd only be like a $20 offense or something equally trivial. Nothing to go to juvie for MONTHS for.

Seriously, how could this go on for years? YEARS!

How can they not have spotted that the judges were imprisoning people unfairly on such a large scale?

No way man, they should be flayed once they're dead. That'll show them.

Ciavarella, 58, who presided over Luzerne County’s juvenile court for 12 years, acknowledged last week in a letter to his former colleagues, “I have disgraced my judgeship. My actions have destroyed everything I worked to accomplish and I have only myself to blame.”

One thing that pisses me off: had he not gotten caught, he would have not so much thought such a statement, that he "disgraced" his position. He would have kept on doing what he was doing - trading kids' lives for money.

It's only ever when they're caught and facing penalty that they realize just how "horrible" the things they've done are, and are willing to make amends...

I have no idea. It amazes me that the parents of these kids allowed this to happen.

I'm sorry, I don't think it actually infringes on ANY laws, it's just against Myspace's terms of use. Which I assume infringes on something, but nothing serious enough where the consequence is prison time.

I haven't posted on ug in a long time but I just had too on this, the PA court system is messed up anyway and this just happens to be where I live now. I got in trouble some when I was younger(now 28) and realized very quickly that the intent of the courts in Pennyslvania is not to rehabilitate people to make them productive members of society, but instead they treat it more as a money making machine...makes me sick.

Reminds me of a quote in Bodega Dreams. I can't remember exactly how it went it went something like lawyers are just prostitutes in suits, even though it was judges that did this messed up thing.

man, this is bull, pure bull, i mean these judges would've kept on doing that crap until they retired and not ONCE thought about how they "disgraced their judgeship" this is disgusting, and i now plan to move very far away from America once i have the money

i aweesume you're talking about the girl with the fake profile? yeah no laws, BUT it could be considered... whatver that legal term is for ruining someone's reputation.

as for what the judges did, try fraud, accepting bribes, falsely imprisoning THOUSANDS of minors...
