hello my friends. i am looking for an amp head only (no combos) that does excellent cleans only, gain doesnt matter at all. it must have a nice reverb. any ideas?

ok, gotcha......

well, the only thing i have off the top of my head is.....John Frusciante live cleans (a good example is his cover of "maybe" at slane castle). albeit he is using a 200 watt Major (which are not exactly easy to come across), i find the JTM45 (or even JTM45/100 [hendrix cleans]) is a good head that has a good amount of headroom plus wont need to be excessively loud to be cranked.

would the jc-120 be awesome for cleans?

Get a vintage Fender silverface Bassman. Amazing cleans at a great price.

Two Rock but you're probably not looking to spend 6k+ on an amp. Maybe a VOX AC-30 Head or a Roland Jazz Chorus.

I have never actually used one but I have heard many people swear by the Fender M-80 Chorus head. They go for pretty cheap. Maybe try to score one of those.

you should check Allen amps, this guy makes pretty sweet amps wich are pretty much fender Blackface clones in more convenient formats. I tried an old flame combo and it was awesome. And they are relatively cheap, like 1500$ new, wich is pretty good for a boutique amp. Here's his site: allenamps.com

And s jazz chours head is kind of hard to find , they are really rare, check on eBay

i am not familiar with this. is it ss?

They are the basis of immensely clean cleans. Great for pedals and whatnot.
Then there's this band called Slice The Cake...

Bunch of faggots putting random riffs together and calling it "progressive" deathcore.
Stupid name.
Probably picked "for teh lulz"

Mesa Lonestar which runs about $1000 used. best cleans i've ever heard out of an amp.
