I'm doing any assignment for my class, using a song or three that have one line that just sticks out, that's like a universal line.

I was thinking of using John Frusciante, Incubus, RHCP or Dear and The Headlights lyrics, but I can't exactly think of a particular song, I would have to go through my iTunes and CDs and stuff to find what I exactly wanted and that could take a REALLY long time
Any help would be appreciated

"Have you ever met a leech that was good at goodbyes"
Leech by Incubus

"Collapse the light into earth"
Collapse The Light Into Earth by PT

Or quite simply:
"Make yourself"

Edit:

Actually, from the song Light Grenades by Incubus:
"Oh my God, can we survive ourselves?

"I wanna **** a dog in the ass"

-Blink182, I wanna **** a dog in the ass.

I say the second one, then make some stuff up like "Society is the dog's ass, which is so frequently "****ed in the ass", so to speak, by the need to feel accepted and loved by our own community."

"Thirty dirty birds

Serious answer: Try something off of The Empyrean. There are some pretty good lyrics there

I was going to use Around The World because "I know for sure, life is beautiful around the world" is a great line

also, the empyrean is great, I really like Ricky though, it's great, check the lyrics out.

Also, it seems to me that that Sir Psycho line is almost about blind lust. I'm pretty sure some of Kiedis' lyrics are against the sexual feelings he feels like

Once upon a time you dressed so fine
You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you?
People'd call, say, "Beware doll, you're bound to fall"
You thought they were all kiddin' you
You used to laugh about
Everybody that was hangin' out
Now you don't talk so loud
Now you don't seem so proud
About having to be scrounging for your next meal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be without a home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

You've gone to the finest school all right, Miss Lonely
But you know you only used to get juiced in it
Nobody has ever taught you how to live out on the street
And now you're gonna have to get used to it
You said you'd never compromise
With the mystery tramp, but now you realize
He's not selling any alibis
As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes
And say do you want to make a deal?

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
A complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

You never turned around to see the frowns on the jugglers and the clowns
When they all did tricks for you
You never understood that it ain't no good
You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you
You used to ride on the chrome horse with your diplomat
Who carried on his shoulder a Siamese cat
Ain't it hard when you discover that
He really wasn't where it's at
After he took from you everything he could steal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

Princess on the steeple and all the pretty people
They're all drinkin', thinkin' that they got it made
Exchanging all precious gifts
But you'd better take your diamond ring, you'd better pawn it babe
You used to be so amused
At Napoleon in rags and the language that he used
Go to him now, he calls you, you can't refuse
When you ain't got nothing, you got nothing to lose
You're invisible now, you got no secrets to conceal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?
sometimes I see us in a cymbal splash or in the sound of a car crash

Your point being? What does the song have to do with the lyrics? If so; why did you comment on it? You know your own opinion and I doubt you will win anyone else over by stating something that is very fary from true.

The lyrics are decidedly mediocre. Coupled with unremarkable guitar playing and hideous vocals, it makes for an entirely awful song.

Brand New - Shower Scene

"Shower Scene"

It's funny how your worst enemies always seem to
turn out to be all of your
best friend's best friends
But I folded and I told
These aren't things I saved to sink you
but I folded, I told
So draw or throw and I will explode

It's time for you to choose
the bullet or the chapstick
And you are far too cute or whatever he said

Every time I hear it I am wishing I was great
I wish her... past tense my best friend
But I folded and I told
These aren't things I say to save me
But I folded, I told
I hope she's caught in the explosion

It's time for you to choose
the bullet or the chapstick
And you are far too cute or whatever he said

It's time for you to choose
It's time for you to choose
the bullet or the chapstick
This is me in his room
This is me in his room
This is me in his room

Red, gold, I told
We don't play fair
Red, gold, I told
We never stand too close

So I update this almost every single day for you
I begin to hate you for your face and not just the things you do
Go tell him how my wrist is sore
from pulling at your insides all night
Nothing that you do is new to anything or anyone but you

Come on, how can you actually think these lyrics are anything but crap? They sound like a third-grader's attempt at poetry. Way too many forced rhymes.

But of course I'm stupid and have no idea what I'm talking about because I take the time to actually listen to lyrics myself instead of repeating whatever Rolling Stone magazine tells me to

Edit: ^ Sure, pick their worst song. That's really conclusive. How about this:

Jesus Christ, that's a pretty face
The kind you'd find on someone that could save
If they don't put me away
It’ll be a miracle

Do you believe you're missing out?
That everything good is happening somewhere else
But with nobody in your bed
The night is hard to get through

And I will die all alone
And when I arrive I won’t know anyone

Well, Jesus Christ, I’m alone again
So what did you do those three days you were dead?
Because this problem's gonna last
More than the weekend

Well, Jesus Christ I’m not scared to die
I’m a little bit scared of what comes after
Do I get the gold chariot
Do I float through the ceiling

Do I divide and fall apart
Cause my bright is too slight to hold back all my dark
This ship went down in sight of land
And at the gates does Thomas ask to see my hands?

I know you'll come in the night like a thief
But I’ve had some time alone to hone my lying technique
I know you think that I’m someone you can trust
But I’m scared I’ll get scared and I swear I’ll try to nail you back up
(everyone now)
So do you think that we could work out a sign
So I’ll know it's you and that it's over so I won't even try
I know you'll come for the people like me
But we all got wood and nails,
And talk dirt at hating factories
But, we all got wood and nails
And talk dirt at hating factories
Yeah, we all got wood and nails
And talk dirt at hating factories
Yeah, we all got wood and nails
And we sleep inside of this machine
kill all humans
