Inspired by the fact that i just watched My Neighbour Totoro, and am now contented and warm inside . And also by the fact that every film seems to have mindless violence as the main plot device these days [misty-eyed nostalgia] I can remember a time when entertainment wasn't all about sex and violence, back when I were a lad... The aforementioned MNT did, but it also had me close to tears at one point (bah, and I call myself a 20-year-old straight man ).

I LOVE My Neighbour Totoro!

It's probably the film that makes me feel the happiest out of all the Studio Ghibli collection.

Ummm Mostly the Lion King. Everytime I watch it, I'm like "Holy Jesus Fuck, that's the best movie ever".

then of course I watch Catch Me if You Can and Gladiator and am reminded that I am in the wrong.

Probably plenty of Disney films.
I only catch movies when they're on TV, I'm afraid.

I preferred Kiki's Delivery Service... that was a good one. Not too zany.

That is second in my list of happy films. But the characters like Totoro and the Catbus make MNT for me.

My all time favourite Ghibli is probably Howl's Moving Castle

Amen to that. Howls moving castle is simply god-like... Let down only by having Hugh Jackman in the english version.

I couldn't help but lol, literally, when Totoro sidled up to Satsuki at the bus stop, as if he was a normal passenger....

Benny and Joon is great, right at the end when they make grilled cheese together :3
By reading this magnificently and wonderful, adjective-filled signature, you have just wasted approximately 7 seconds of your life.

Totoro is the ****.

You MUST watch this movie.

^^ I have yet to see Howls but I hear it is even better than Totoro.

'Tis not Hugh Jackman. Christian Bale. Amazing movie.

The only one I can think of right now for me is Stranger Than Fiction.
