Who do you think is the best drummer in a current band (still living, not Keith Moon)? My vote goes to Thomas Pridgen of The Mars Volta. If you don't agree, just listen to Wax Simulacra (or anything else on The Bedlam in Goliath).

As much as I despise Rush, Neil Peart sp? is amazing.

No, nobody on The Pit watches porn.

We also don't play guitar, eat, sleep, or even go on The Pit.

Has Guitar Pro 5 and does the drums for them!

really..in my opinion...you can't compare musicians...every musician plays with a different style...so they can't really be compared...in skill, some are more skilled in something things than others..so overall they are all probably equal...some drummers have pure speed, some have stamina, and some have really good sense of beat and rhythm...its all relative to the person judging
#18
Neil Peart, Danny Carey, or the Pennywise drummer.

Actually, forget talent, I'm gonna go with Craig Ferguson.

Yeah, Craig Ferguson was a drummer, look it up.

Danny Carey of Tool
Matt of Mudvayne
Josh Freese

And personally, IMO - I think Morgan from Sevendust has a really solid, heavy hitting sound. That's just a personal addition, though - I wouldn't say he's the best drummer - just a sound I prefer.
Do you feel warm within your cage?

And have you figured out yet -

How did I know this thread was going to be flooded with Peart. LOL.

I ****ing hate Peart's playing and I ****ing hate Rush's music in general. No offense to anyone who likes them though.

I'd have to say the best drummers in my opinion are Bill Ward, John Bonham, and Phil Rudd (Who gives a flying **** if he plays the same thing over and over. It works and the man has groove.)
#28
everyones just gonna say Peart, but as far as bands I listen too, Brann Dailor (mastodon) and Dave Lombardo (Slayer) are both insane

Also, post the band name so everyone can listen and judge your choice for themselves.

Yes, strongly, Joey Jordison sucks, isn't metal. Lars Ulrich blows and is ****ing boring. Mike Portnoy's a god though.
