So i've been trying to get a good solo tone with just my amp (Vox Ad50Vt). I know, valvetronix.net. They had nothing I liked. I'd rather have amp settings, that i could find a channel on my amp, and tweak from there.

I was listening to "dear god" by avenged sevenfold. And really like the solo tone in it. Its not too rough i guess, but not to mellow and quite.

Anyone got any setting ideas?

Right now my "cleanish" solo settings are gain: 8. Bass: 7, Treble: 8, and mids at 6. I use the humbucker in my guitar with that one.

Oh and my guitar is a HSS strat

Thanks for any help

Try gain at 1 o'clock, bass and mids at 2 o'clock, and treble 10 to 11 o'clock. I would also use the mid and bridge pickups, those pickups together sound great in my opinion.

Good luck man.

Ok, so putting numbers, Gain at bout 6, Bass and mids at 7, and treble at 4 or so.

I'll try that tomorrow. Way too late right now haha.

Any other suggestions though from other people?
