ive been looking at schecters, i was going to save for a sunset extreme until today. i played my friends washburn and i love it.

so now im unsure whether i should save for a schecter or a washburn?

price range is about £250/300

best price/quality ratio?

Washburns in that price range are of better quality than one would expect. Don't know about the Schecters though.

But made with Agathis or some low grade wood.

I'd check out Washburn mainly because the price to quality ratio is much better, if Schecter was priced like it is in US, I'm sure it would be much better.

Can you try them out?

I've only had experence with Washburn, and i like them quite a bit-if that helps.

i think i played the idol? it reminded me of a Les Paul in terms of sound.

i think its called the 'X40'. thats what ive been looking into. the one with the 'X' inlay.

i like its sound and tones. i dont know about tuning stability though.

i think ill probably get a washburn. since only 1 or 2 people said schecter lol.
