...he would make music like Ereb Altor. Ereb Altor is a pre-Isole band that didn't go anywhere. A demo was released in '03 and only in the past year have they released their only album titled By Honour.

The music itself is a mixture of Bathory's viking era (Hammerheart, Twilight of the Gods, Blood on Ice, etc.) and Scalds unique brand of Epic Doom. The acoustics featured on the album are similar to those seen on Norland I and II. The music puts you amidst viking ships of old as Bathory or Scald would.

Fans of either band should do themselves a favor and get By Honour now.

Took one of my muxtape considered bands.

The list is widdled away just a little bit...
A heathen, conceivably

Glad to hear a bit more Agyl than Quorthon in the vocals
Great stuff, I'll definitely look more into this album.

Just because it isn't a surprise doesn't mean you shouldn't put it on .

I'm making a list of bands never mentioned on these forums for the most part.

I still have more then plenty.

I got By Honour a few months ago, it's great
I’m not the man I used to be, I... I can’t go back to Arkham.

I... I should return to Arkham.

Among the churchyard’s mouldering stones I recognise a name – my own.
I have come home to Arkham.

I'll check this out when I get home next, so tomorrow, while I nurse my paintball bruises lol. Sounds wicked though

You really owe it to yourself to look into it.

I seriously hesitate in even calling this band a side-project. The very heart and soul of the musicians is poured into the music and it really shows. It definitely surpasses anything they've done in Isole(which is saying alot).

I was just thinking about inquiring as to whether anyone else listened to this band in the Doom thread.

By Honour is a pretty good album that's been growing on me the more I listen to it. I wish more of the songs had some epic leads in them though, such as on By Honour(song). I prefer Isole overall, though.

I'm currently getting owned by Crypitc Tales, thanks to Stranglehold.

Well, let's take a look at this band if the myspace page will load for computer >.<

**** yeah it was. It really surprised me how good it was. The new material is supposed to be a bit faster paced.

Brynste should just quit Isole and continue doing side projects. I managed to listen to his other Bathory inspired band, Windwalker. **** was amazing.

I knew it was in the works, but I really thought they were putting it off considering how busy Isole is. Even better news is that Ereb Altor are starting to play live

Yeah, but good luck on them touring the US, or more specifically Pittsburgh. At least I will be seeing Argus this friday// :\

Bump because people need to listen to more doom and Powerslave's threads never get the recognition they deserve.

The point of underground bands is their not popular or famous most of the time. Thus there is a good chance they suck.

I hear more Quorthon than Agyl in The End.

Jesus this is good stuff, I usually dislike to over-fellate bands..but this band seems acceptable to do so. Blazing skies this is good.

Balder's Fall is a new song, I've never heard it o.O , makes me so excited for the new album. It gives off the same feeling as Scald, at least to me. More so with the new song

I finally checked these guys out about two months ago, and found another good album; it seems they have a LOT of Bathory cds though hah

Powerslave is an asset to these vast forums.

Great band my friend. Considering that I'm a Bathory/Scald nut.

Holy jesus the new song is massive, just as good if not better than the songs on the debut . The End is easily one of my most anticipated albums.

By Honour is incredible, like Twilight of the Gods mixed with The Will of the Gods... Only strikingly unique. Been spinning that son of a bitch constantly lately.
Glance into my eyes
and see the darkest shadows dancing
Playing in the desert of my life
Burning, -
and my soul is descending...

Good man. I must thank Powerslave for mentioning them sometime or another.

Can't wait for the new album. Late March looms over us....

The End is out and I haven't ordered it yet.

I feel like I've committed one of the seven deadly sins.
#39
Let me be the unfortunate first to say that The End is an enormous let down.

It sounds nothing like By Honour, has none of the vocal catchiness and simplicity of its predecessor and veers in random directions without any idea of where it's going to end up. Then, the individual parts seem lackluster in comparison as well.

Dare I say, this is the end for Ereb Altor. (okay, maybe that wasn't punny at all )

I haven't listened to By Honour.

But, The End was a killer album. I doubt that would change if I listened to By Honour.
