So it's been raining for the past few days where I live, and I just remembered this pretty terrible experience I had on a day last year when it was raining.

So it was mid to late winter and I'd gotten up extra early that day to wash my hair so it would be clean when I went to school. After making all the regular efforts to get ready for school in packing my bag, making sure I had my homework and the like, I grabbed my flimsy umbrella and made off for the bus. It was pouring rain and there were very strong winds. I'd made it halfway down the street and already I was soaked from the waist down because my umbrella could only protect my head and upper body from the almost diagonal rain. I crossed the first road, and wet my socks and shoes completely. Second road, there was practically a river flowing in the gutter, and lo and behold I ended up soaking my pants to the knee after stepping in it accidently.. I couldn't step over it. At that point I'm ready to give up so I make my way home and greet my mum at the door, 75% soaked and very irritated after all the effort I'd made that morning in getting up early and getting ready. After that ordeal I decided to stay home seeing as that I only had two classes that day... five minutes later my best friend texted me asking if I could bring an extra pair of socks.

So every bad experience makes a good story, right? Let me know of the bad experience/s you've had during heavy rain or generally bad weather.

(Yes, searched.)

I went to school when it was raining and found out I had holes in the bottom of my Vans.

That sucked.
Blindfolds aside I'd probably still close my eyes

And try to feel a trembling fetal life inside
that shotgun barrel that's about to make me bleed

Like an ulcer in the stomach of the beast

Hey man, take a look out the window 'n' see what's happenin'
Hey man, it's rainin'
It's rainin' outside man
Aw, don't worry 'bout that
Everything's gonna be everything
We'll get into somethin' real nice you know
Sit back and groove on a rainy day
Yeah
Yeah I see what you mean brother, lay back and groove.

Rainy day, dream away
Ah let the sun take a holiday
Flowers bathe an' ah see the children play
Lay back and groove on a rainy day.

Well I can see a bunch of wet creatures, look at them on the run
The carnival traffic noise it sings the tune splashing up 'n'
Even the ducks can groove rain bathin' in the park side pool
And I'm leanin' out my window sill diggin' ev'rything
And ah and you too.

Rainy day, rain all day
Ain't no use in gettin' uptight
Just let it groove its own way
Let it drain your worries away yeah
Lay back and groove on a rainy day hey
Lay back and dream on a rainy day

Relevant... very.

it's been raining a lot where I live too. I remember one time I was at a bullfight the next town over (there's a lot of Portuguese people who live there. I happen to be Portuguese myself). And about an hour into it it started raining and on my way to the car I stepped in literal bull **** and ended up sliding a good three feet.

terrible experience for an 8 year old

Guessing you're in sydney too. Well about an hour and a half ago we just came out of rehearsal for a gig tomorrow, and my mate bought out my amplifier in the rain without anything covering it. That **** me off a lot, the amp's actually my old man's amp, my amps a stack and he has the combo version, so I use that a lot.
So yeah it wasn't my amp and we have a gig tomorrow. Nothing better've gone wrong or i'll be ****ing pissed off.
I wouldn't have minded so much if the back side wasn't exposed to the rain (ie exposed valves).

Indeed.

I have nothing to contribute.

I don't care if it rains.

I just cover myself and my clothes in a thick layer of butter, which keeps me dry and comfortable.
I'm not cool.

This exactly what I think about every time I see the title to this thread.
There may be times when it is impossible to prevent injustice, but there should never be a time when we fail to protest it.

One time, it was snowing pretty hard, and I was almost late, so I went to school without checking cancellations, and school was out for the day.
