Hi!

I have a Peavey Valve King and I use BBE Crusher distortion pedal for distorted tone. the VK doesn't have gain on the clean channel.
I play punk rock, pop punk, alternative...mostly original material and I want a little crunchy cleans.
Would this thing give me the crunch needed?
Cause if I buy an overdrive pedal or something, I would have to switch it off before hitting the BBE and it ruins my tone. Would I have to do the same with this (Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster SFX-01)?

Crank your clean channel a little bit, that's the only you're going to get any breakup to make it crunchy.

Why not just use an overdrive to boost it?

a clean boost would work, but whether or not it'll work with your distortion pedal too, i don't know... you could maybe fiddle about with a couple of A/B/Y pedals or some other kind of loop, but that'll get awkward and expensive pretty quickly, if it's even possible...
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

I told why not.
Cause it screws up my dist. tone that is not coming from the preamp, but from the BBE pedal.
